Police have received legal advice to charge Haslyn Hodge, the prime suspect in the murder of Evelyn Alves, a Venezuelan woman who was found dead with a gunshot wound in the back of her head.
He is in custody and is slated to appear at the Diamond Magistrate’s Court soon.
Alves was found dead on the morning of Sunday, July 7, 2024, in the New Diamond Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara (ECD). Detectives discovered a gunshot wound at the back of the woman’s head.
She was last seen alive on Saturday, July 6, by relatives when she left at around 21:00hrs to an unknown destination.
