Jumbo Jet Auto Sales, a household name in Guyana’s heavy-duty equipment market, has received the prestigious “Dealer of the Year”award at the annual Sinotruk Global Partners Conference, held in Mexico City. The award was presented to Nasrudeen Mohamed, the company’s founder, in recognition of his exceptional performance in selling the most trucks within the Americas division, which encompasses Central America, South America, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
This accolade is a significant achievement for Jumbo Jet Auto Sales, which has been a dominant force in the Guyanese market since its establishment in 1994. The company, known for its focus on quality and reliability, has long specialized in the importation of foreign used heavy-duty equipment and trucks, catering to a diverse clientele with flexible payment options.
Three years ago, Jumbo Jet Auto Sales took a bold step by signing an exclusive contract with SINOTRUK, making it the sole distributor of brand new trucks in Guyana. SINOTRUK, a leading figure in the global trucking industry and the largest truck manufacturer in China, has a storied history of innovation and excellence. This partnership has enabled Jumbo Jet Auto Sales to significantly expand its offerings and solidify its position as a key player in the region.
The award ceremony, attended by over 600 dealers from 30 countries, saw Mr. Mohamed being a stand out for his outstanding sales performance amidst SINOTRUK’s impressive export of 68,000 units worldwide this year. The award was presented by Wang Zhijian, General Manager of Shandong Heavy Industry Group and Chairman of Sinotruk, alongside Zhaohua, Chairman of Sinotruk International.
In addition to receiving the award, Mr. Mohamed had the unique opportunity to engage in a one-on-one meeting with the Chairman of SINOTRUK, further strengthening the partnership between Jumbo Jet Auto Sales and the global trucking giant. A presentation celebrating the growth and success of the Jumbo Jet Group of Companies was also delivered on Mohamed’s behalf by his daughter, Melissa Chattergoon-Shariff, underscoring the company’s legacy and remarkable progress over the years.
Looking to the future, Mohamed has secured thousands of brand new trucks to meet the growing demands of the Guyanese market. Jumbo Jet Auto Sales is also expanding its operations by constructing a new parts and service station exclusively for SINOTRUK vehicles, further ensuring that the brand remains the number one choice in Guyana. The opening ceremony for this new facility will be announced in the near future.
