Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred around 05:45 hrs this morning at Lot 23 D’Urban Street, Lodge, Georgetown, resulting in the death of 40-year-old vendor Anthony Havescomes from South Ruimveldt. Havescomes was shot multiple times, and several others were hospitalized with gunshot injuries.

The shooting followed an ‘All Black’ party held at V’s Flavor Delight at the same location. Police had ended the party around 05:00 hrs. A 37-year-old businessman, who hosted the event, reported hearing loud explosions while cleaning up on the northern side of D’Urban Street. He then saw a black motorcar speeding westward and noticed several people with what appeared to be blood on them. The businessman assisted in transporting the injured to the hospital.

At Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), the following victims were treated: Travis Ceres, a 25-year-old vendor, suffered a gunshot wound to the lower abdomen; Teon Allen, a 38-year-old unemployed man, was shot in the left shoulder; Stanley Matthews, a 31-year-old laborer, sustained injuries to his left hand and thigh; Destra Auther, a 33-year-old vendor, was shot in the left leg; and Lenox Wayne, a 39-year-old security guard, received wounds to his right thigh and hand.

Investigations are ongoing.
