Stabroek Block operator, ExxonMobil Guyana, is eager to foster healthier discussions on oil, gas, and sustainability at the 2025 Guyana Energy Conference and Supply Chain Expo, according to the company’s President, Alistair Routledge.

Speaking at the event’s launch this morning, he emphasized the significance of the upcoming conference, which will take place in February 2025, marking the fourth consecutive year of ExxonMobil’s title sponsorship.

The official highlighted the conference’s growth over the years, noting its increasing effectiveness in bringing together key stakeholders, including the local and international private sector, policymakers, and academics. “Each year this conference continues to build on the prior years, it becomes larger, it becomes more effective at doing what we’re looking for it to do,” he said.

He also emphasized the importance of the event as a platform for engaging in vital conversations about energy, Guyana’s development, and the country’s role in the regional and global energy landscape.

Moreover, Routledge said the theme for the 2025 conference, “Connecting the Dots and Integrating the Future,” aligns with ExxonMobil’s focus on providing affordable and reliable energy while advancing sustainability. The President expressed his anticipation for the event, stating, “We look forward to the engagement that we anticipate will be even healthier than in prior years.”

Notably, Chief Executive Officer of the Guyana Energy Conference, Kiana Wilburg, also spoke at the launch, providing insights into the focus of next year’s event.

Wilburg highlighted that the 2025 conference will feature a series of parallel discussions, which are designed to address a wide range of issues related to energy, sustainability, and economic development. These parallel sessions will allow for more in-depth exploration of specific topics, enabling participants to engage in targeted dialogues that are most relevant to their interests and expertise.

According to Wilburg, the overarching theme, “Connecting the Dots and Integrating the Future,” will guide these discussions, emphasizing the need to link energy strategies with sustainable development goals to ensure the continued growth of Guyana and the broader region.

She also underscored that the dialogue will reflect not only on past successes but also innovative solutions for the challenges ahead.

The Guyana Energy Conference and Supply Chain Expo has become a key event for the Guyana and the regional energy sector, drawing widespread participation and serving as a forum for critical discussions on the future of energy.
