The body of Anthony Kissoon, a 57-year-old man of East Indian descent, who resided at Lot 72 Hadfield Street, Georgetown, was found in a state of decomposition at his apartment at about 15:50hrs yesterday. His cousin, Fredrick Kissoon, made the discovery.
The scene was visited by detectives. Inquiries disclosed that the Kissoon lived alone. According to the cousin, Anthony complained of feeling unwell on several occasions, and on the day in question, he went to visit him, and as he entered the deceased’s yard, he detected an unpleasant odour.
He proceeded into the apartment and observed his cousin lying on the northern side of his bedroom floor unresponsive.
The police and emergency medical services were summoned, and the victim was pronounced dead by a doctor from the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.
A team from the Criminal Investigation Department Headquarters, Crime Laboratory, processed the scene. An examination of the body revealed no sign of injury.
Kissoon’s body is currently at the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, awaiting a post-mortem examination.
Investigations are ongoing.
