Whether addressing political and security challenges or navigating economic uncertainties, one truth remains evident, no nation can confront those issues alone. The collective efforts of the international community are indispensable, says Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani, the Prime Minister of Qatar.

The dignitary made this comment and more during a virtual presentation to the Guyana Energy Conference and Supply Chain Expo being held at the Marriott Hotel on Georgetown, Guyana.

The PM said that it is an honour to speak at the conference, noting that the historical visit made by Guyana’s President, Dr. Irfaan Ali set the tone for friendship and cooperation.

“It’s an honor to reaffirm Qatar’s unwavering commitment to strengthening the bond between our two nations, bonds that have deepened significantly following the historic visit of His Excellency, President Mohammed Irfaan to Qatar and the opening of the Guyana Embassy in Doha in May 2023 as well as the historical visit of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani the Emir of State of Qatar to Guyana in September of the same year.
These “milestones”, he said, “not only strengthen our diplomatic bonds but also create profound foundation for cooperation across multiple sectors ensuring the prosperity of both peoples.”

He added, “We look forward to further expanding our partnership in ways that promote mutual growth and shared success.”

Before concluding his remarks, the PM mentioned the struggles ongoing across the globe and the need for unity.

“We gather here at a time when the world is witnessing crises of unprecedented complexity challenges that test the very principle of international cooperation, peace, and security.
The world is grappling with a mass migration, a growing energy shortage, and multiple conflicts and the Middle East ongoing wars disrupt trade, destabilize communities and threaten hopes for a peaceful future.”
Despite the gravity of the situation, the PM said that the state of Qatar continues to push for peace, facilitation for diplomacy, mediation, and humanitarian aid. He encouraged others to do the same.
“Ladies and gentlemen, whether addressing political and security challenges or navigating economic uncertainties one truth remains evident, no nation can confront those issues alone. The collective efforts of the international community are indispensable.”
