Agriculture Minister Zulfikar Mustapha met with farmers from Ebini and other villages along the Berbice River in Region Ten to discuss agricultural development in the area.
During the meeting, Minister Mustapha said that the government, through the Ministry of Agriculture, has been working with various categories of farmers across the country to expand the agriculture sector. He also said that farmers with small acreages are now being integrated into mega projects as the government moves closer to achieving Vision 25 by 2025. He also said that over the last four years, farmers have been benefiting from a number of support services and that budgetary allocations are now being made to facilitate infrastructure to support agricultural development all across the country.
A follow-up meeting will be held in the coming days to discuss other large-scale projects in the area.
