Police are probing an incident that occurred last Monday at about 23:50hrs, involving Motorcycle CL 4491 driven by 19-year-old Ricardo Melville, a resident of Kaneville, East Bank Demerara, who reportedly died after crashing into a concrete culvert.
Inquiries disclosed that Melville was proceeding south along the eastern carriageway of the Diamond Public Road, East Bank Demerara, at an alleged fast rate, when he lost control of the motorcycle and collided with a concrete culvert, situated on the eastern parapet of the said road.
Melville, who received injuries, was picked up in an unconscious state by Emergency Medical Technicians and conveyed to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where he was seen and examined. Sadly, the teen succumbed while receiving treatment.
His body was escorted to Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
