Detectives in Police Regional Division 4B are investigating a shocking case of alleged murder/suicide and attempted murder that occurred around 21:10 hrs on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Ideal Road, Linden-Soesdyke Highway. The incident involved four members of the LaCruz family—three of whom tragically lost their lives, while one remains hospitalized in critical condition.
The deceased have been identified as 25-year-old Maline LaCruz, who sustained injuries to her back, breast, and throat; 50-year-old Waveney LaCruz, who was shot in the head, breast, and hand; and 16-year-old SueAnn LaCruz, who received wounds to her breast and lower back. Meanwhile, Seon LaCruz, a 23-year-old male, survived the attack but remains in critical condition with suspected gunshot wounds to his shoulder and jaw.
The suspected perpetrator, Parmanand Ramdehol, is reported to be the reputed husband of Maline LaCruz and father of her two youngest sons, ages three and four. Maline also had an 8-year-old son from a previous relationship. Waveney LaCruz, one of the deceased, was the mother of Maline, SueAnn, and Seon.
According to a female resident of Ideal Road, she accompanied Maline, SueAnn, and the children to a creek earlier that day, after which they stopped at Soesdyke Junction. While there, Ramdehol approached them on a motorcycle. The group eventually returned to Maline’s residence, where the witness later saw Ramdehol arrive again and enter the house. At the time, Maline, her children, and her family members were inside. The witness reported hearing an argument between Ramdehol and Maline, followed by several loud explosions, believed to be gunshots. She fled the house with the children.
Ranks from the Timehri Police Station were summoned to the scene, where they found Ramdehol lying near the front door inside the sitting area. A 9mm APX Beretta pistol with serial number A007242X was found next to him, containing five live rounds in the magazine and one in the breach. A small uncorked bottle emitting a noxious odor was also found near his body. It has not yet been confirmed whether Ramdehol was licensed to carry a firearm.
Ramdehol and Seon LaCruz were transported to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre. Ramdehol was pronounced dead on arrival, while Seon was later transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation for emergency surgery. His condition is listed as critical. Maline, Waveney, and SueAnn were also taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre, where they were pronounced dead. Their bodies were later taken to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home pending post-mortem examinations.
The scene was processed by investigators, who recovered seven spent 9mm shell casings, two warheads, and four metal fragments. All items were packaged, marked, and lodged at the Timehri Police Station. The area remains cordoned off and under police guard as the investigation continues.
Background information reveals that on January 9, 2025, Ramdehol was arrested and charged for wounding and threatening Maline LaCruz. He was remanded but later granted bail. On the day of the deadly incident, Ramdehol had appeared in court for the matter, which was subsequently adjourned.
Investigations into this deeply disturbing case remain ongoing.
