Post Mortem Examination reveals…
A post mortem examination performed on the body of 10 year-old June Alexander who succumbed days after a fall at Regma’s Primary School in Linden, has revealed that she died from blunt trauma to the head caused by Arteriovenous malformation.
Arteriovenous malformation is an abnormal tangle of blood vessels connecting arteries and veins, which disrupts normal blood flow and oxygen circulation. The autopsy was performed by Government Pathologist, Dr. Nehaul Singh at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.
Little Alexander died on Friday in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit where she was declared brain dead.
Two Mondays ago, Alexander was said to be running at her school when she reportedly fell to the ground, hit her head and ended up in an unconscious state. Despite the post mortem findings, her relatives have insisted that the child was pushed by either a student or a teacher at the school.
They claimed that they were given different versions of what happened to the 10 year-old.
Her mother, Angela Hamilton said that she was told by a doctor that the injuries her daughter sustained are too severe to have been caused by a fall. The woman believes that the school is trying to cover up the matter.
The mother said that her daughter was a victim of constant bullying at the school and would often complain to her. In the days leading up to her death, Alexander was said to be healthy and in good spirits.
