The police have arrested three bandits after they robbed a 27-year-old woman last night on the Recht-door-Zee Public Road, West Bank Demerara (WBD). Two of the armed suspects managed to make good their escape.
According to information received, the ‘A’ Field Sophia woman and two others were walking on the public road when they were confronted by the five men who were armed with knives, cutlasses and a gun.
The young woman was robbed of her phone, jewellery and an undisclosed amount of cash. About 30 minutes after the robbery, three of the bandits were arrested in La Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara with some of the stolen items.
Efforts are being made to arrest the other suspects. Those in custody reside in Charlestown, Georgetown.
