“I’m of sound fing mind and this is nonsense! All them doing drugs and trying to make me an ass so I premeditated to damage the fing car window,” were the words of a woman who was sentenced to nine months in prison after she admitted to damaging a car.
Forty-five-year-old Vanessa Schroeder appeared before Principal Magistrate Faith McGusty in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
She pleaded guilty with explanation to the charge which stated that on July 31 at Hadfield and Cross Streets, she unlawfully and maliciously damaged a $70,000 windscreen of a car, the property of Donna Bailey.
The woman said, “I’m of sound f***ing mind; they always troubling me, that’s why I damaged the vehicle.”
Schroeder, who was handcuffed, began to behave in a disorderly manner in the courtroom which caused a female officer to approach her. The officer requested Schroeder to quieten down.
The irate woman turned to the officer and shouted, “Don’t fing touch me! Let me talk to the magistrate because I am sick and tired of y’all pushing me around. I am tired of the fing pushing around.”
Facts presented by Police Prosecutor Seon Blackman stated that on the day in question, the victim parked her vehicle at Hadfield and Cross Streets and Schroeder approached the vehicle with a brick and threw it at the front windscreen, causing it to break.
The matter was then reported, an investigation was carried out, hence the present charge.
The magistrate after listening to the facts sentenced the woman to nine months behind bars.
The woman, upon hearing she was sentenced, shouted, “You sending me to jail for nine f***ing months, I gon’ chop off all them prisoners’ head!”
Soon after the woman was escorted downstairs and placed in the holding area where she began to throw water on the male prisoners who were inside the holding area. She was then handcuffed and shackled before being placed outside with the police officers.
