The results of the 2019 Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examination will be released tomorrow, the Ministry of Education informed the public by way of a notice today.
The announcement of the results at 16:30 hrs will take place at the Ministry’s Kingston Georgetown, National Centre for Educational Resource Development (NCERD).
It is expected that the Ministry will also release the results of the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination.
CSEC and CAPE are regional examinations which are administered by the Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) and CXC announced that a new system have been put in place for the release of the results. The online CAPE® and CSEC® release dates are today and Thursday, respectively. CXC said it took into consideration that the results, “Are highly anticipated by students in order to determine how they performed in their examinations and how they will proceed on their educational journeys.”
Detailing its new examination release system, CXC added, “In the past, students may have experienced access issues due to the high volume of traffic received on the CXC website, where the results were scheduled to be released at 10:00 p.m. EST, on release dates. This year, in order to ensure that students have easy access to the results portal, CXC will release results at varying times throughout the day.”
The new approach will mean decreased numbers of students visiting the website at one specific time. As such the results will be released to specific countries for a window of time between two to three hours on release dates.
Subsequently, results will be available freely until the portal is closed, CXC said.
As CXC marks the 40th anniversary of offering CSEC® exams, the organisation said that it remains committed to preparing students of all ages, abilities, and interests for an ever-changing, competitive, global employment market, through the provision of the highest quality syllabuses; valid and reliable examinations and certificates of international repute.
