A Charlestown resident was today charged and released on $30,000 bail for allegedly having in his possession 12 grams of marijuana.
Twenty-three-year-old James Murphy, a labourer of Charlestown, appeared before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
He denied the charge which stated that on August 14 at Lombard Street, Charlestown, he had in his possession 12 grams of marijuana.
Murphy was represented by attorney-at-law Paul Fung-A-Fat who asked that his client be released on reasonable bail.
Police Prosecutor Traceyann Gittens did not object to bail being granted to the defendant. Hence, he was released on bail and instructed to make his next court appearance on August 30.
