Police are investigating the suspected murder of Suraj Sookdeo also known as Terry, a 45-year-old labourer, of lot 9 Woodley Park, West Coast Berbice.
The incident, according to police, occurred sometime between yesterday about 19:30h and today at Rat Barrow Dam, West Coast Berbice.
Initial investigations have revealed that the deceased was last seen about 19:30hrs. on Wednesday last at his residence.
Sookdeo was found lying motionless with what is suspected to be a gunshot wound to his body. He was taken to Fort Wellington Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The body is at Anthony Funeral Home, awaiting a post-mortem investigation.
