A 19-year-old was today charged and remanded to prison for the murder of a 58-year-old man, whose body, with several chop wounds, was discovered in a trench.
Lennox Roberts, a Labourer of Nabaclis, East Coast Demerara, appeared before Senior Magistrate Fabayo Azore in the Cove and John Magistrate’s Courts.
The teen was not required to plead to the indictable charge which stated that on September 2, 2019, at Bus Shed Road, North Haslington, East Coast Demerara, he murdered David Gentle. He was remanded to prison until January 22, 2020.
According to information, on the day in question, around 01:30 hrs, Gentle was imbibing at a shop in the village.
However, his body, which bore several chop wounds, was discovered in a trench around 05:00 hrs the next morning.
