Twenty-six-year-old Seon Isaacs of West Ruimveldt, Georgetown, was moments ago sentenced to 14 months behind bars after being found guilty on a break and enter charge.
The ruling was handed down by Magistrate Rondel Weever in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Courts at the conclusion of the trial.
Isaacs had pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated that, on July 12, he broke and entered the home of Sandra Adams and stole a number of household appliances valuing $1,400,000.
Facts presented by Police Prosecutor Shellon Daniels stated that on the day in question, the victim arrived home and noticed a car was parked in front of her lot. Soon after, the car drove off but the woman was able to see some of her appliances in the vehicle’s trunk, which was opened.
The woman alerted her neighbours who ran behind the car. The vehicle eventually stopped a short distance away.
Officers arrived on the scene and arrested Isaacs who was seated in the vehicle.
He was told of the allegation and charged for the offence.
The stolen articles were recovered and returned to the victim.
