A six-year-old boy lost his life this afternoon when the driver of a motorcar lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the lad, his mother and two siblings.
The accident happened just after 16:00 hrs at Bushlot, West Coast Berbice.
Guyana Standard was unable to obtain the child’s name and address. It has however been revealed that he attended the Latchmansingh Primary School in the community.
At the time of the accident, the deceased’s mother had just picked him and his two siblings up from school and they were heading home.
Reports are that the three children and their mother were standing on the parapet of the road when the driver of the motor car allegedly lost control of the vehicle and crashed into them before landing in a trench.
The six-year-old died on the spot while his family is currently receiving treatment at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.
The driver has since been detained.
