A sex worker who is no stranger to the courts once again made an appearance before a City Magistrate, this time charged with robbery.

Godfrey Cox, 19, of High Street, Georgetown appeared before Magistrate Clive Nurse to answer to a robbery charge.

Cox denied the charge which stated that on December 20,2019 at Charlotte Street, Georgetown, while being in the company of another, he robbed Noel Trotman of $250,000 cash and a phone valued $20,000.

Cox was represented by Attorne-at-law Paul Fung-at-fat who asked that his client be granted bail. The lawyer told the court that his client was approached by the virtual complainant who asked to conduct “business” with him.

However, facts presented by Police Prosecutor Dinero Jones stated that on December 20,2019 the victim slowed down to cross over Charlotte Street and the defendant and another individual approached his vehicle.

The court heard, the defendant asked the victim a question and it was then that he pushed his hands in the car and relived him of the articles mentioned in the charge. He then made good his escape.

The matter was then reported and Cox was later arrested for the offence. An identification parade was later conducted and he was positively identified by the victim as the person who robbed him.

Magistrate Nurse remanded Cox to prison until January 7,2020.
