A vendor who allegedly kicked a teenager into a state of unconsciousness before robbing him for his valuables, was today remanded to prison for the offence.
Twenty-six-year-old Rawledon Marshall, a vendor of 28 Pike Street, Kitty, Georgetown, appeared before Principal Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
Marshall pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated that on February 10, 2020 at Kitty, Georgetown, he robbed Masecion Hartman of a phone valued $170,000, a hat valued $5,000, a phone charger valued $5000 and $40.
Facts presented by Police Prosecutor Quinn Harris stated that on the day in question at around 01:00 hrs, the teen was walking along the seawall when he was approached by the defendant who pushed him to the ground.
The court heard that while on the ground, the defendant kicked the victim several times to his head. He then relieved him of the articles and made good his escape.
The matter was then reported and following investigation he was arrested and charged for the offence.
The Prosecutor made serious objections to bail being granted to the defendant on the grounds of the serious nature of the allegation and the penalty the charge attracts.
The Magistrate, after listening to facts, remanded Marshall to prison until March 4, 2020.
