The police are investigating the murder of a miner which occured around 21:00 hrs last Thursday at Tamakay Farback Backdam, Middle Mazaruni River.
The suspect is on the run.
According to information received, the victim was at the suspect’s shop at the mining camp imbibing when a loud explosion was heard.
It is unclear what happened but persons who were closeby to the shop related to the police that shortly after the explosion was heard, the victim was seen exiting the camp with blood oozing from his stomach.
The police said that the victim related to persons that it was the owner of the shop who wounded him. He collapsed and died shortly after.
The body is presently being taken to Bartica.
