Ballots contained in 56 boxes were counted as Day Eight of the recount of votes cast in the March General and Regional Elections came to end at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre (ACCC) this afternoon. This figure takes the total number of boxes process, thus far, to 367.
Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM)’s Spokeswoman, Yolanda Ward reported that 15 boxes were counted for Region One; 11 for Region Two; 15 for Region Three; and 15 for Region Four.
Ward reported also that GECOM is likely to commence the recount of Region Five ballots tomorrow, as the recount of Region One votes draws nearer to completion.
