A 60-year-old lost his life yesterday following an accident on the Industry Public Road, Corentyne, Berbice.
Dead is Ganga Persaud Shivdyall, a pump operator, of Lot of 7 Fryish Village, Corentyne, Berbice.
Inquiries disclosed that the motorcycle was proceeding east along the northern carriageway of the road around 17:45, on motorcycle CF 2415, when the driver apparently lost control and fell onto the road surface and received injuries about his body. Persaud was picked up in an unconscious state and taken to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital where he was seen and examined by a doctor on duty and was pronounced dead on arrival. His body is presently at the hospital’s mortuary awaiting a post mortem examination.
