A young mother of three is currently battling for life at the New Amsterdam Hospital, after she was shot in the head by her boyfriend.
The victim has been identified as 28-year- old Devlyn Garraway of Number 30 Village, West Coast Berbice, Region 5.
According to information, Garraway and her boyfriend, Julian Arthur had an argument around 09:30hrs this morning after he showed up at her home.
The argument escalated and Arthur allegedly pulled out a firearm and shot her to the head.
The bullet exited through her jaw.
The woman was picked up and rushed to the Fort Wellington Hospital before being transferred to the New Amsterdam Hospital.
It was reported that the woman wanted to end the relationship after Arthur became abusive.
The suspect who fled the scene is presently being sought by members of the Guyana Police Force. A further update will be provided.
