Opposition-nominated Commissioner, Sase Gunraj says that the Chief Elections Officer (CEO), Keith Lowenfield indeed submitted his final report on the March General and Regional Elections to the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM), Chairperson Justice (Retired) Claudette Singh today.
Copies of that report were shared with the three opposition commissioners, but the figures found within the report are not consistent with those that came out of the National Recount process, Gunraj said.
Lowenfield was instructed by Justice Singh to use those figures. The Statements of Recount (SORs) when tabulated at the end of the recount exercise showed a win for the Opposition, the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C)
According to Gunraj, the figures in this new report are wrong and show a victory for the incumbent regime, the A Partnership for National Unity + Alliance for Change (APNU+AFC).
He said that Lowenfield “eyespass” the Commission given that he had to be told twice to submit a report using the figures and has refused to do so.
Also, his previous report saw the dumping of over 115,000 votes.
