Guyana has recorded its 22nd COVID-19 related death as the number of confirmed cases continues to increase.
The patient has been identified as a 79-year-old man from Georgetown, who died while receiving treatment in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
As of today, Guyana recorded 497 cases of the virus; inclusive of the 22 deaths and 186 recoveries. There are 289 active cases.
Guyana confirmed its first imported case back in March of this year.
