Minister of Public Works, Bishop Juan Edghill today was visited by Brentnol Ashley, Chairman and Sarah Browne, Vice Chairman to discuss the matters emanating in Region One with specific emphasis on the supply of electricity.
During the brief meeting, Minister Edghill expressed shock in receiving the news that Matthew’s Ridge in Region One has been without electricity since March of 2020.
Upon learning this, Minister Edghill posited, “notwithstanding the issues of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the Ministry of Public Health safety guidelines, this matter should have already been resolved.”
Further, Minister assured the Chairman and Vice Chairman that since they have made representation today, action will be taken to resolve the matter assiduously.
Additionally, Minister Edghill has instructed his team at the Hinterland Electrification Company Inc. to make contact with the engineers/mechanics on the ground to have the engines up and running immediately as he would like the people to regain their power supply tonight.
