One day after Imran Khan was fired as the Director of the Department of Public Information (DPI), his wife Tamara Khan was also let go by the Irfaan Ali-led government.
She provided consultancy services to the former government and was a legal advisor to the Office of the Prime Minister.
According to the termination letter seen by this publication, Mrs. Khan was informed by the Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs, Anil Nandlall, that the government is not satisfied that she performed services contemplated by the contract in “accordance with the highest standard of professional, ethical and moral competence, or at all, as is required by Clause Seven of the contract.
Her services were terminated with immediate effect.
The government is also assessing liquidated damages for which Mrs Khan is said to be liable. Upon conclusion of that assessment, she will be informed accordingly, the AG said on behalf of the government.
Mrs Khan was requested to hand over to the Permanent Secretary of the Office of the President, all government property.
