Four months after a prisoner was killed during an attack by two other inmates, a 22-year-old was today charged with his murder.
Shawn Jordan, called ’Shawn’ or ’five minutes’ today, appeared before Magistrate Marissa Mittelholzer via Skype.
He was not required to plead to the charge which stated that on April 21, 2020, at Lusignan Prison ‘B’ Holding Bay Two, he murdered Jason Dundas. He will make his next court appearance on October 19, 2020.
31-year-old Dundas was killed following a brawl at the Lusignan Prison.
It was reported that he was attacked and chopped to the face, reportedly with an improvised weapon. The wounded man was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Dundas was on remand for trafficking 97 pounds of marijuana in August of 2019.
