A murder accused and two others, who had escaped from the Holding Bay at the Lusignan Prison on April 20, 2020, have been sentenced to imprisonment. Those charged are Anthony Padmore, 26, of Ogle Street, Beterverwagting, ECD, Sasenarine Bisnauth, 24, of 22 Tuschen Housing Scheme, EBE, and Ghanesh Dhanraj, 23, of Facade Parika, EBE.
The trio was arrested on May 1, 6, and 31, 2020, respectively, by the Police and charged today with escaping from lawful custody.
The men appeared before Magistrate Marissa Mettelholzer via Skype. They all pleaded guilty to the charges. Padmore was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment, while Dhanraj and Bisnauth were each sentenced to 21 months behind bars.
Padmore is currently serving a three-year sentence for trafficking of cannabis, while Bisnauth was charged with two counts of robbery and armed robbery. Dhanraj was charged with murder.
