A Port Kaituma North West man who was caught having sex with the corpse of a 56-year-old woman who was tested positive for COVID-19 has been charged and remanded for the offense.
Fifty-year-old Leroy Chacon of Train Line Port Kaituma appeared before Magistrate Dylon Bess at the Matthews Ridge Magistrates’ Court via zoom.
Chacon was charged with trespass with intent to Commit a Sexual Offense Act Chapter 8:03. He pleaded guilty and was remanded until September 30 for sentencing.
Police arrested Chacon after persons observed him having sex with the 56-year-old woman’s corpse at the Port Kaituma Hospital mortuary.
The woman, who had tested positive for COVID-19, died on September 21, 2020.
