Desmond James, the man who was charged with the September 01, 2014 murder of gold miner Glendon Cox which occurred at Arakaka Village, North West District, was this morning found not guilty by a jury.

James, 29, was arraigned before Justice Navindra Singh at the High Court in Demerara, where he pleaded not guilty to the charge. Thereafter, his trial commenced during which his lawyer, Mark Conway, made a no-case submission. Justice Singh upheld the no-case submission and directed the jury to return a formal verdict of not guilty.

Cox, 46, a father of two, was stabbed to death.
