Police are investigating the report of an “unnatural death” committed by a 52-year-old man of Tuschen Housing Scheme, East Bank Essequibo.
The incident occured today about 01:00 hrs.
The man’s body was discovered by his son, who later told police that his father told him he wanted to drink poison.
He told police that he found his father’s body lying infront of the door of their home.
The body was examined by the Police but no marks of violence was noticed. The body was then escorted to the Leonora Cottage Hospital where he was pronounced dead by a doctor on duty.
The body was subsequently taken to the Ezekiel funeral parlour, where it is awaiting a post morten examination.
Investigations are ongoing.
