The Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) has plans to build a five-storey multipurpose complex at Lot 41 High and Cowan streets.
In an advertisement in yesterday’s edition of the Guyana Chronicle, GECOM expressed its intention to prequalify consulting firms to design and provide a cost for the works.
The ad says that qualification requirements include the experience of the firms and CV’s of key personnel.
Applicants must submit their expressions of interest no later than 1 pm on Tuesday, December 29th 2020.
GECOM found itself in hot water this year with several of its officials before the courts facing electoral fraud charges following the March 2, General and Regional Elections.
The commission is also under the microscope as it gears up to host Local Government Elections next year, admid demands by the ruling and Opposition parties for better systems to be adopted to prevent credible elections results.
