A 21-year-old man, who is accused of raping a 12-year-old girl was today charged and released on $150,000 bail.
Triston Telford appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court when the charge was read.
He was not required to plead to the indictable offence, which alleged that between December 1, 2018, and December 31, 2018, in Georgetown, he engaged in sexual activities with a child under the age of 16.
The Chief Magistrate granted Telford bail in the sum of $150,00 with the condition that he report to the Alberttown Police Station every Thursday until the case’s hearing and determination. The matter was then adjourned until January 7, 2021.
