On Wednesday, December 30, 2020, police ranks conducted a narcotics eradication and a cordon and search operation at Torani Canal, Canje River, Berbice.
The party destroyed more than 3000 cannabis plants and a makeshift camp.
During the more than nine hours of operation, the team found the following:
(1) 193 live cartridges.
(2) 3.27 kilograms of processed cannabis.
(3) 8.27 kilograms of cannabis seeds.
(4) Two plots of cannabis cultivation with more than 3000 plants measuring between four to six feet in height.
(5) A makeshift camp
A male in whose house the processed cannabis, cannabis seeds and the ammunition were found, is being sought.
The camp and narcotics were destroyed by fire.
