A 32-year-old businessman was on Tuesday robbed of cash and other values by two gun-toting bandits.
The victim is Junior December of Gap Road La Jalousie, West Coast Demerara (WCD).
Reports indicate at about 18:55hrs, the victim was in his store located at Lot 6 Cornelia Ida, WCD making notes when he observed two males enter his minimart.
Thereafter, one of the bandits whipped out a handgun and told him to remain quiet while the other bandit relieved him of his valuables.
The businessman was relieved of $60,000 in cash, one gold ring valued at $20,000, one Redmi Note 8 Pro cellphone valued at $65,000, and a quantity of Digicel and GTT phone cards worth $15,000.
After they committed the act, the two suspects made good their escape. The victim alleged that one of the suspects fired a shot while escaping. Investigations are ongoing.
