Janki Goberdhan, a 60-year-old resident of Fyrish Village, Corentyne, Berbice was found dead in a drain yesterday about 19:30hrs at Fyrish Coker Dam, Corentyne.
Investigations revealed that Janki, who suffered from an illness that requires her to be in the company of someone, left her residence without informing family member. She was later seen lying in a drain and was then escorted to the Port Mourant Public Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
The body, which bore no marks of violence, was then taken to the Ramoo’s Funeral Home. A post mortem examination will be performed soon.
