At 06:30hrs and 11:00hrs today, ranks of Regional Division 4A, Tactical Services Unit and the Guyana Prison Service (GPS) conducted a search of the Georgetown Prison Camp Street, Georgetown in the holding bays and compound where the following prohibited items were found and seized:
9 cellphones
One cellphone battery
Four cellphone chargers
10 cigarette lighters
Five improvised weapons (jukker)
One knife.
Meanwhile, during a search of the Timehri Prisons by Joint Services ranks, the following items were found:
Six cellphones
One lighter
A quantity of ‘strong’ in 10 assorted bottles
A quantity of cement
One cellphone battery
One cellphone headpiece
Four improvised weapons
40 razor blades
One cellphone charger
One cellphone adapter.
All articles were photographed and lodged at Timehri Police Station.
