Police are investigating an alleged robbery under arms committed on 45-year-old, Eyon Campbell of Buzz Bee Dam, Craig, EBD.
The incident occurred this morning and was executed by three individuals armed with a handgun and cutlasses.
The victim was relieved of $350,000 cash, one DVD player, one 42-inch Sony television and one black Samsung J2 Core cellphone valued $35,000.
Enquires disclosed that the Campbell, who lives alone, awoke to footsteps in his bedroom, and was subsequently confronted by the three assailants who demanded cash and valuables.
The victim immediately handed over his money mentioned, but they demanded further cash which the victim indicated he did not have. One of the armed assailants then dealt the victim a chop to his head and several lashes about his body, causing him to receive injuries. They further relieved him of the other articles mentioned and made good their escape via a northern door, from which they gained entry into the house.
The victim thereafter proceeded to the Woodlands Hospital where he sought medical treatment for his injuries and was subsequently discharged.
A report was lodged and ranks from Golden Grove Police Station visited the scene.
Investigations are in progress.
