Navindra Sarwan called Tallman, of First Field Cummingslodge, and Adrian David of 127 Shell Road, Kitty, were this afternoon remanded by Magistrate Judy Latchman in the Diamond/ Grove Magistrate’s Court. The duo was charged with trafficking cocaine and after denying the allegation, they were remanded until April 15.
The particulars of the charge state that between March 7 and March 8, between First Field Cummingslodge Georgetown and Amerijet Cargo Shed, Chedi Jagan International Airport (CJIA), Timehri, East Bank Demerara, they trafficked a narcotic that is to say 3.304 kilograms of cocaine. The drug was intercepted at Amerijet Cargo Shed, CJIA.
Guyana Guyana understands that The Customs Anti- narcotics Unit (CANU), interdicted a quantity of cocaine concealed in salted fish at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA), destined for Miami, USA. Six persons were in custody pending investigation.
The Unit unearthed 280 pieces of plastic wrapped, pencil-shaped parcels of drug hidden in the bones of salted fish intended for export.
The total weight was 3.304 kilogrammes.
