Police say they are investigating the “unnatural” death of Sahara LaCruz, a 15-month-old toddler who lived with her mother at Cabora Village, Moruca, North West District.
The incident occurred yesterday in the village some time after 03:30hrs.
Enquiries revealed that about 03:30hrs, the child’s mother was at home sleeping when she heard her daughter crying. She attempted to breastfeed the child, but the toddler refused. A little while after, she observed her daughter’s body breaking out in convulsions before finally stopping.
The matter was later reported to the Acquero Police Station. A post-mortem examination is expected shortly.
