A man was today nabbed with what police suspect to be a smoke grenade, around 01:50hrs at Middle Walk, Victoria, East Coast Demerara.
The man was discovered with the item after he was caught by police responding to an alleged damage to property report.
Upon seeing law enforcement officials, the suspect bolted, resulting in police giving chase.
He was eventually caught and the suspected smoke grenade was found in his possession.
He was arrested and escorted to the Cove and John Police Station where he was placed in custody.
