A 51-year-old businesswoman and 33-year-old security guard were robbed last night around 20:00hrs at Orinoque, Port Kaituma, by three men suspected to be foreigners.
Enquiries disclosed that the victims left home and were walking toward the waterfront area. Whilst passing the Port Kaituma District Hospital, they were approached by the suspects who were all dressed in dark clothing coming from the opposite direction.
One of the suspects whipped out what appeared to be a firearm and spoke in a language that the victims could not understand. He then took away her handbag containing $500,000 and escaped.
Investigations are ongoing.
