A 54-year-old Crabwood Creek man is in police custody after police found a firearm and ammunition in his home yesterday.
Acting on information, ranks in the division went to the home of the suspect and conducted a search.
During the search of the lower flat of the building, the ranks found a black tire tube between several pieces of clothing which, when opened, contained three components of a 12 gauge shotgun.
Further searches were made and a plastic bag containing six shotgun cartridges was found.
The suspect was told of the offenses committed, cautioned, and arrested.
The firearm and ammunition were marked, sealed, and lodged at the Springlands Police Station.
