Acting on information received, a party of policemen went to the Charity Nursery School Street last night around 23:00hrs, where a search of the area was conducted. During the exercise, ranks found a black plastic bag on the eastern side of the said street next to a hot dog stand. When opened, the said bag contained a 9mm pistol and four transparent plastic bags containing a quantity of cannabis and cocaine.
A further examination of the 9mm pistol revealed that it does not have a serial number.
The narcotic and firearm were taken to Charity Police Station where the cannabis was weighed and amounted to 40 grams while the cocaine weighed 42 grams.
The narcotics and firearm were subsequently lodged.
