More than 100 persons in Number 79 Village and surrounding communities in Berbice benefited from a medical outreach hosted by the Central Islamic Organisation Guyana (CIOG) on June 27, 2021.
The services offered by the team at the Outreach were Blood Pressure and Glucose Testing, Blood Donation Drive, General Medical Checkups, Covid-19 Vaccination, and Medical Assistance along with the Dispensation of Medication.
Along with the Medical Services, the public was able to obtain a wide range of packages that catered for their daily needs that included Women Sanitary Products, clothing, food items, and Footwear.
The CIOG expressed gratitude to the many voluntary organizations, medical persons, and members of the general public for their collaboration and support in making the event a success. These include: Indira Jaffarally; the Imaam, President and Members of the Number 79 Masjid; the Upper Corentyne Road Safety Group; the Guyana Cancer Foundation; Guyana Medical Relief; National Blood Transfusion Services; the MOPH/ Reg#6 (Covid-19 Vaccination Team); Sleepy South America; Diaspora Auxilium Charity; and the USA Embassy Humanitarian Assistant Program Team.
“Our esteem thanks to all the Doctors, Nurses, and the entire medical team who gave their time and services voluntarily for this humanitarian outreach which was able to render assistance to over 100 persons from the surrounding communities. The entire team combined their best efforts in assisting with the needs of the public and the CIOG thanks all for the efforts and sacrifices they made. We pray that God Almighty richly reward all those who were involved in this humanitarian outreach and we pray for blessings for those who were seeking medical assistance with lifelong good health,” the CIOG noted.
