Police have launched an investigation into the discovery of a damaged vehicle found in South Ruimveldt with spent shells located in its interior.
The car was reported stolen yesterday at Middle Road, La Penitence, by a taxi driver.
The 30-year-old told police that he was working with the mentioned motorcar and was in the vicinity of Gomal Fish and Chip Place to drop off the passengers who had hired him.
Immediately after doing so, he was confronted by two individuals, who approached him on a blue motorcycle (registration number and model unknown).
The pillion rider dismounted the motorcycle and pulled out a handgun from the waist of his pants and held the victim at gunpoint, ordering him to exit the motorcar.
The suspect entered the motorcar and drove away.
The car was found abandoned in South Ruimveldt, Georgetown today. A search was conducted on the motorcar and four 9mm spent shells were found along with the window broken.
