Anand Mangroo, 10, of 380 Hope Low Lands, East Coast Demerara reportedly drowned yesterday at the Hope Seawall.
Investigations have revealed that Mangroo, along with his 13-year-old brother Ajay and an eight-year-old cousin, Brian, was swimming when a wave lashed the 10-year-old toward the Hope Koker channel.
Mangroo went down but did not resurface.
Ajay shouted for help but no one offered assistance.
Police began a search and at 20:20hrs, Mangroo’s body was fished out of the water at Hope Foreshore.
