Unvaccinated speedboat operators risk losing their licence and suspension if they are found performing transportation functions on waterways, the Maritime Administration Department (MARAD) said on a notice published today on its Facebook page.
The gazetted COVID-19 guidelines for August state that operators of public transportation, such as minibus operators, taxi drivers, and speedboat operators, will now be required to be fully vaccinated to continue to operate.
MARAD said that operators are required to have their vaccination cards in their possession and must provide the same on request by officers attached to the department.
“Failure to comply with these restrictions may result in the suspension or revocation of licences,” MARAD said.
